Career Fit Analysis
How this job meets key career needs
Quality: 75%2 Red Flags5 Highlights4 Questions

This is a well‑compensated, senior engineering leadership role at a large, stable healthcare company with clear influence and responsibility over enterprise AI and medical cost solutions. Foundational needs (compensation, employment type, and company stability) are reasonably addressed; safety and esteem signals are strong. Gaps include limited explicit detail on standard benefits, team size/resourcing, and concrete professional-development pathways. Also note ambiguity in the listed profession/title and the very broad scope which could indicate resourcing or role‑clarity risks.

Red Flags
  • Ambiguity in seniority/role labeling: job metadata lists 'Profession: Chief Technology Officer' while title is 'Director II' — creates uncertainty about level, scope, and expectations.
  • Extremely broad remit (AI, analytics, P&L, disaster recovery, vendor management, hiring/training, enterprise delivery) without stated team size or resourcing — risk of scope creep or unrealistic workload if not matched with adequate staff/budget.
Highlights
  • Salary range provided: $199,936 to $327,168 (for CA, DC, IL, NY; varies by location/qualifications).
  • Large, established employer: ~100,000 associates serving ~100M+ people.
  • Role has clear senior leadership responsibilities: strategic oversight, P&L responsibility, hiring/training, vendor management.

Questions to Ask
  • Can you describe the size and structure of the teams I would own (number of direct reports, total headcount, and key roles) and where this role sits in the org chart?
  • What budgetary authority and staff resources will be allocated to achieve the AI and medical-cost initiatives you describe (e.g., dedicated engineering, data science, vendor contracts)?
  • How is success measured in the first 6–12 months for this role (specific KPIs tied to medical cost outcomes, platform adoption, or ROI)?
