Role Overview

This role will work with cross-functional teams including, but not limited to, Quality Operations, R&D Quality, BTS, and Data Analytics in the implementation of AI-powered solutions to address complex business challenges across the global AbbVie Quality network. Partnering with business leaders and process owners, the position holder will ensure processes are AI ready and subsequently provide the necessary business support to BTS from a solution implementation perspective.

  • Collaborate with business process owners to understand current business processes, challenges, and determine where AI can automate tasks, improve accuracy, or provide new insight.
  • Project manages the design, development and deployment of AI solutions into production environments from a business perspective and ensuring their integration with existing systems.
  • Conduct intake of business AI proposals from the global Quality organization, determine prioritization in alignment with leadership objectives, and collaborate with cross-functional teams of data scientists, BTS, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into AI solutions.
  • Collaborate with business process owners and data analytics to preprocess and clean data for AI models.
  • Coordinate data readiness for AI models including source identification and needed transformations.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of AI systems, optimizing and fine-tuning existing AI models to enhance their accuracy, efficiency, and performance.
  • Train and educate teams on AI solutions and adapts training content to the rapidly evolving landscape of AI. Drive AI technology thinking within Quality Operations.
  • Remain appraised of regulatory requirements in the field of artificial intelligence and maintain the global quality system ensuring that AI applications adhere to industry regulations and standards.
  • Participate in the relevant industry forums and represent AbbVie.
  • Participate in the AI solution validation and approve SLC deliverables as Business System Owner.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
  • 8+ years' working in a global GMP pharmaceutical, biologics and/or medical device company with demonstrated understanding of industry processes and technical discipline.
  • Understanding of data engineering and data warehousing concepts.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to work with complex datasets.
  • Solid interpersonal and influencing skills to ensure alignment at various levels cross-functionally
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent leader for a multidisciplinary team from all levels and functions of the organization
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects independently from concept to deployment.
  • A passion for remaining current with the latest advancements in technology.
  • Analytical thinker with excellent attention to detail.
